Recently announced the Best Wedding Venue in the ACT, it’s easy to see why it is so popular and why I loved photographing here.

Offering a unique location on Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra, it is really a great place to get hitched if you live in this area of the woods. There is plenty of great photo opportunities for the bridal party alongside the lake. The ceremony takes place just outside on the front deck of the venue, and it is overlooked by these nice big trees which creates a nice canopy of shade for you and your guests, even in the hot summer sun.

The sunsets are magnificent over the lake and the view of Kingston Foreshore, Parliament House and Black Mountain are just over there.

The food is why people keep coming back here, and for this wedding they decided to have share platters which makes it much more fun for everyone. Produce driven and a pleasure to look at, the food is something you’d expect from one of Canberra’s best restaurants.

I recently photographed Zoe and Joe’s wedding here in the Summer of 2018. It was a day time wedding with 80 guests coming from all over the world. Zoe, a human rights lawyer and Joe and school teacher called Canberra their home 5 years ago and has never looked back since. They decided to get married here as it was where Joe took Zoe on their first date.

The ceremony was short and sweet, and Joe funnily enough forgot his own name and decided that he was marrying himself, leaving the audience in raptures of laughter.

I had the pleasure of photographing this Canberra wedding for them and I can’t thank them enough for letting me be their Canberra Wedding Photographer.
