Jing and Brandon’s super easy going wedding at Camperdown Commons
Could your wedding day be so local where everything was literally 5 minutes away?
Certainly for Jing and Brandon it was. And it was so awesome!
They live just 5 minutes down the road. They didn’t even need a car.
They simply walked to their wedding. How cool is that?
In the front you have the farm, and out the back you have the restaurant and cafe. Quite a great idea!
The architects who have designed this space really had everything planned out to make the most of the space that was, and turned it into productive and awesomely planned out restaurant space. A place which I could easily spend a lazy Sunday morning just sipping coffee and breakfast.
They have a more casual style area that is semi outdoors for a smaller more intimate wedding reception, or the restaurant for a more slightly formal, sit down style. Best of both worlds!
How was the food?
A relatively newcomer to the wedding business, they are super easy going to work with, work with local suppliers to source their produce as well as having a garden of their own right at the front.
The team at Camperdown Commons are so so accommodating and are so willing to help their clients plan an amazing easy going wedding.
What’s really cool is they grow their own vegetables right on site.
The food is so fresh and you can tell it has just been picked their food that day. I can say not many Sydney wedding venues can say they have their own farm in their backyard!
Jing and Brandon loved how they had a spit lamb and pork for their dinner, so they could share everything and not waste a single bit of the animal.
Sharing is caring
Everything was shared and “common” amongst everyone. Something I found quite refreshing after many weddings with the same meat and three veg, and a very traditional stuffy 3 course meal.
I really love how they support local suppliers like Young Henry’s which brews their super awesome beer just down the road and wines which haven’t travelled across the globe. I love that about this venue.
Everything about this venue is local, easy and not one bit “snobby”
The Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony was held on site in their pavillion, and the location photos were just a quick stroll across the road. It’s surrounded by olive trees and raised garden beds of local flowers and vegetables.
I really love the feel that Camperdown Commons has done to transform the space to make it really easy for wedding ceremonies.
We even walked all the way around to Newtown and goofed around Mary Street nearby to their favourite burger shop Mary’s
In the nearby Camperdown Park just two minutes walk away, I took Jing and Brandon for some quick wedding photos during sunset. The sun was shining right behind us and it was just sublime.
If i could photograph weddings here every week I would, just because the vibe of the venue is so “me” and I just love the concept and fresh ideas they provide for all of their clients so that their wedding is not just a cookie cutter idea.
