Ahh, Sydney. This place is a wedding wonderland, offering everything from sun-kissed beaches to beautiful estates surrounded by nature. For couples who want their wedding to feel like a rom-com montage come to life, garden wedding venues in Sydney are where the romance really blooms.
To help you find the one (venue, that is — hopefully, you’ve already found the one), I’m listing some of my favourites.
Let’s dive right in!
Royal Botanic Gardens

Right in the heart of Sydney, the Royal Botanic Gardens combines gorgeous foliage with jaw-dropping harbour views, offering couples an elegant and tranquil setting for their big day. There are endless places to have your wedding ceremony here — from incredible scenic spots to more intimate locations.
The lighting is also unbeatable, and just perfect for those dreamy, golden-hour shots. And speaking of shots, the gardens are filled with incredible photo ops, like picturesque ponds and sweeping views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
I had the honour of capturing a wedding at the Royal Botanic Gardens recently and you can see for yourself the photos turned out incredible!
Springfield House

Next on my list of Sydney wedding venues with gardens is the Springfield House. Tucked in the lush, leafy surrounds of north-west Sydney, this hidden gem gives you that dreamy countryside escape without actually leaving the city.
With five acres of perfectly manicured gardens, trees, and a charming white gazebo, a Springfield House wedding has storybook romance written all over it. Plus, the soft natural light and endless vegetation are absolute gold for wedding photography and videography.
For ceremonies, the Gazebo Lawn serves up open-air elegance, while the Grand Marquee brings that perfect indoor-outdoor flow with stunning garden views.
The Grounds Of Alexandria – The Garden Fountain

For a garden venue with a dash of European charm, The Garden Fountain at The Grounds of Alexandria is calling your name. It’s a vibrant setting, with climbing vines and twinkling fairy lights, providing an intimate hidden oasis right in the heart of Sydney.
The showstopper, in my book, is the jaw-dropping stone fountain, which brings a romantic, old-world vibe to the entire ambiance. I’m also a huge fan of the candlelight and colourful florals, which makes everything feel seriously enchanting. It also feels secluded and intimate, which helps add to the allure.
Plus, there’s a great mix of rustic textures which, when combined with candlelight and abundant greenery, creates an incredibly elegant atmosphere. Take a scroll through their Instagram page to see the magic of getting married at The Grounds of Alexandria!
Australian Botanic Garden

The Australian Botanic Garden in Mount Annan is another garden venue that’s a garden lover’s paradise. Spanning over 400 hectares, this is one of the most stunning garden wedding locations in Sydney, featuring wildflower meadows, peaceful lakes, and secret garden corners that seem completely untouched.
With endless ceremony spots to choose from, the Connections Garden and Lakeside Lawn really steal the show, with open-air elegance and jaw-dropping backdrops. There is also an on-site reception hall to host your celebration!
This venue is super versatile, as it works for couples looking for a laid-back, picnic-style celebration, as well as couples looking for something a little more refined.
Gledswood Homestead

For those who appreciate rich history but still want a bit of rustic charm incorporated into their wedding day, I’d suggest taking a look at Gledswood Homestead. This is a heritage property surrounded by gorgeous rolling vineyards and pristinely manicured gardens. Steeped in history, this stunning 19th-century estate is a master at bringing old-world romance to life, with sandstone buildings, fairy-lit courtyards, sprawling green lawns, and more.
The Secret Garden is one of the most romantic outdoor wedding locations in Sydney, while the Cask Room provides a cosy, candlelit reception space inside the historic homestead.
So if you’re looking for a venue that offers a wedding that feels intimate, charming, and full of character, Gledswood delivers 100%!
Chinese Garden Of Friendship

If you want a wedding venue that’s a little off the beaten path (and I mean that in the best way), the Chinese Garden of Friendship is your go-to spot. Situated in Darling Harbour, this venue is the epitome of a hidden gem, offering couples the chance to step into what truly feels like a live-action landscape painting.
The Chinese Garden of Friendship is complete with weeping willows, koi-filled ponds, and pavilions that could easily be mistaken for a scene from Mulan (minus the singing, unfortunately). It’s peaceful, picturesque, and full of charm.
Say your vows in one of the serene, secluded pavilions, each offering an intimate vibe surrounded by water and luxurious greenery. For me, one of the things I love most is that the lighting here is so soft and dreamy, every photo is simply awe-inspiring. If you’re hooked and ready to consider booking, visit them here.
Eryldene Historic House And Garden

Stepping into Eryldene Historic House and Garden is like stepping into another time, with its 1914 house and seriously gorgeous garden. The house is beautiful, but it’s the garden that truly shines with its camellia trees and wisteria-draped pergolas. I also love the charming stone paths, which you and your guests will love wandering during cocktail hour.
If you’re into history, romance, and a bit of old-school charm, Eryldene is the perfect place to solidify your love and begin your happily ever after. To learn more about weddings at Eryldene, visit them here.
Vaucluse House

For the grand romantics looking for a dash of coastal charm, Vaucluse House weddings are in a league of their own. Nestled on 10 hectares of lush gardens, this historic estate has ocean breezes flowing through soaring fig trees and artistically trimmed hedges. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel regal without even trying as if you’ve stepped into your own period romance, (corsets optional).
You can say your vows in the Pleasure Garden, which is a secluded spot full of colourful flowers, or go for the Lawn Terrace, where the views of the water are nothing short of jaw-dropping.
The historic house is the cherry on top, giving your photos that effortlessly elegant vibe. Trust me, if you’re looking for a venue full of character and a touch of fairy-tale charm, Vaucluse House is where it’s at.
Lindesay House

Lindesay House is a true Georgian beauty hidden away in Darling Point that has to be seen to be believed. Dripping with sophistication, from its manicured gardens to its picture-perfect harbour views, Lindesay House weddings deliver. With its pure Austen novel vibe, sandstone staircases, and wisteria-clad archways, this is a venue that’ll make you stop and say, well, nothing because you’ll be speechless.
For ceremonies, the Garden Courtyard offers a peaceful spot where natural splendour meets history. Inside, you’ll find beautifully styled rooms for getting ready, adding a hint of refinement and pampered regalness to your day.
Curzon Hall

Okay, so who doesn’t want to get married in a castle? Or at least, in the gardens of a castle? If you want a wedding that screams royalty, Curzon Hall is the ultimate fairytale venue. This grand sandstone castle is surrounded by incredible gardens and ivy-covered walls and even includes a few elegant fountains for those super dreamy photo ops.
With multiple ceremony and reception spaces, including the Enchanted Garden and the grand Banquet Hall, weddings at Curzon Hall are great for both intimate gatherings and extravagant celebrations that will be unforgettable.
Burnham Grove

As a kid, I used to wonder what it would be like to stumble upon a secret garden and actually, Burnham Grove is one of those places that makes you feel like you’ve done just that.
Burnham Grove weddings have it all, with a charming historic homestead and a laid-back yet totally sophisticated atmosphere. The vibrant rose gardens and jacaranda trees are awe-inspiring, and when mixed with the natural lighting you have a photographer’s paradise. And also your wedding paradise, of course.
The Lawn Pavilion is perfect for those looking for outdoor garden ceremony venues in Sydney ceremony, while the Orangery gives you a glass-walled reception space with views of all those gorgeous gardens.
Ottimo House

Last but certainly not least on my list is Ottimo House. This is the perfect match for couples who want the best of both worlds: a little country charm with a whole lotta modern elegance.
Set on 500 hectares of rolling countryside, weddings at Ottimo House blend rustic vibes with a contemporary twist, thanks to open fields, tranquil lakes, and towering eucalyptus trees.
You can tie the knot by the lake or in the open paddocks. Hello, nature-filled dream wedding. The Grand Hall takes it up a notch with floor-to-ceiling windows, making the breathtaking landscape part of your garden wedding reception in Sydney.
Oatlands Estate

If you are looking for a Sydney wedding venue that is minutes away from Parramatta CBD, Oatlands Estate is definitely worth considering.
Situated in a French-style chateau that has old world charm and lavishly manicured gardens right on site, it is an absolutely gorgeous setting to have your wedding ceremony. My personal favourite is the Rose Garden that is located around the side of the property that has a lovely circular water fountain and is surrounded by tall palms and lush foliage.
It also has a number of other ceremony locations, the Enchanted Garden and the Oatlands Chateau to choose from.
