A beautiful day for a beautiful Long Reef Golf Club Sydney Wedding
Sam grew up in Sydney’s Northern Beaches (lucky guy!). He always loved the water, the sand and even the pesky seagulls that try to steal your chips.
However, Bec grew up in the suburbs of Melbourne, so she decided it was best to have their wedding in Sam’s hometown, right on the beach
She said it’s a lot nicer than suburban Melbourne, that’s for sure
They chose Long Reef Golf Club in Sydney to host the best day of their life amongst their closest friends and family.
Honestly, you couldn’t pick a nicer spot to get married in the Northern Beaches. The ceremony area overlooks the entire beach and peninsula and you can even see the tide creep up to the beach edge if you wait long enough.
Ceremony Location next to the beach
The team at Long Reef Golf Club Sydney Weddings do an amazing job to make it really easy for their couples. They have set packages with everything included the ceremony setup with chairs, arbor, even the umbrellas in case it gets sunny.
Natalie Blyth of The Beaches Celebrant gave a beautiful ceremony for the couple
The ceremony was short and sweet, personable and full of fun and laughter. They even involved their two kids which was so sweet.
Even little things like the table decorations look great, and suits the beachy vibes. You don’t need a lot of decorations to make the room look nice, just a few simple niceties that compliments the beach theme.
Bec’s family all came up from Melbourne, and one special guest, Bec’s grandmother had never been on an airplane before. She made a special trip just for her grand daughter’s weddings
Did we mention Golf Carts?
One thing I really loved about Long Reef Golf Club is the fact you can get around in golf carts while you do your wedding day portraits instead of walking around in your high heels and getting them all dirty.
Tell me that isn’t a lot of fun! The team also prepare some drinks in a basket to enjoy as well so you can really have some fun out there. They give you 5 golf carts to run around in which is more than enough.
Photo Locations nearby
One of the staff members at Long Reef Golf Club joins you in the buggy and takes you to the popular wedding photography locations at Long Reef. There’s plenty of choice nearby the beach, or in the rocky cliffs surrounding the area. We had a lot of fun with the bridal party photographing bare foot!
And all of this is within walking distance from the golf carts (YAY). It really makes things so easy and super fun at the same time.
To finish off, we end up in the clearing above with a view of the entire Long Reef Golf Club and golf course. It’s a perfect spot to have a glass of champagne or two while you wait for the sun to set.
The Reception
The room is nice and airy, with plenty of natural light around. It’s arguably better in the day time as all of that view is right there in front of you.
At night, it still looks spectacular too with the beach right there you can hear the waves crash instead of tooting horns and traffic.
There’s also a nice large courtyard just outside the glass doors where you can enjoy the view and even use it as a dance floor.
Food and Wine
The food is generous in portion, looks and tastes great. I was given the steak for my main meal and it was really nice, and wasn’t what I expected given I’ve had my fair share of wedding food over the years.
The wine and beers are really good as well
I really enjoyed my time here at Long Reef Golf Club and I would highly recommend that you put it on your shortlist to have as your Sydney wedding venue.
To me, it has everything you need in one convenient location near the beach and water and plenty of great wedding photography opportunities that is super accessible.
Plus the staff and team at Long Reef Golf Club really create an amazing ambience for the couples and their guests.
I can’t wait to come back here again and photograph my next Northern beaches wedding
