A great pick for a fuss-free but seriously fun celebration without the usual fluff and stuffiness.

There is a space downstairs aptly called the Den which can be setup for a low key wedding ceremony that certainly looks the goods without any effort at all. The old world industrial windows allows plenty of natural light to flow in so your ceremony looks the part.

They do not have catering in house so you would have to organise your favourite caterer, food truck of your choice to keep everyone sober.

Hawke’s Brewing Co. – Marrickville
The Bob Hawke Beer & Leisure Centre is Aussie nostalgia in venue form. There’s a pool room, retro memorabilia, and a vibe that’s equal parts cheeky and meaningful just like the old school 1980’s Bob Hawke TV commercials that I grew up with (yes, showing my age here!).

They have very flexible layouts with plenty of space to mix and match to suit your guest list and flow. For example, welcome everyone in The Tap Room, move outdoors to The Courtyard for canapés, then head upstairs to The Mezzanine Lounge.

There is also plenty of entertainment built in with pool tables, brewery tours, and even the chance to participate in a blending session make for memorable guest activities.

Bonus: they’re big on sustainability, so your wedding can be both memorable and mindful.

White Bay Beer Co. – Rozelle
Set in a former power station near Rozelle’s waterfront, White Bay Beer Co this space is a photographer’s dream. The soaring ceilings, heritage bones, and skyline views near the Anzac Bridge make for one hell of a backdrop.

The venue space is nice and large where you can have your ceremony which also becomes your reception area. You would need to organise your own catering and it is very food truck friendly, so you can easily choose your favourite pizza, burgers or whatever tickles your fancy.

Dog-friendly, too—so your four-legged mate can walk you down the aisle.

Yulli’s Brews – Alexandria
Modern, inclusive, and cool without being try-hard. Yulli’s offers great beer, a fully plant-based menu, and a flexible upstairs mezzanine that’s perfect for intimate receptions. Great for couples who want to keep things casual but creative.
